Assistant Production Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Production Manager in daily production planning and scheduling.
  • Supervise production activities including cutting, machining, assembly, sanding, polishing/finishing, and packaging.
  • Allocate workers and monitor their performance and productivity.
  • Ensure production targets and delivery schedules are achieved.
  • Monitor the availability and proper use of timber, MDF/plywood, veneers, hardware, adhesives, paints, and other materials.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse, purchasing, sales, and quality-control teams.
  • Inspect work at different production stages to ensure doors meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify production delays, defects, wastage, and machine-related problems and report them to management.
  • Help reduce material wastage and improve production efficiency.
  • Ensure workers follow company safety procedures and proper use of machinery and PPE.
  • Maintain production records, daily reports, material consumption records, and manpower reports.
  • Assist with machine maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs when required.
  • Train and guide production workers on proper processes and quality requirements.
  • Support implementation of 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous-improvement practices.
  • Ensure the production area is clean, organized, and safe.
  • Perform other production-related duties assigned by the Production Manager.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Production Management, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in wooden doors, furniture, joinery, carpentry, or wood manufacturing is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of relevant production experience; supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of woodworking machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read production drawings and understand measurements and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and team-management skills.
  • Good knowledge of quality and workplace-safety procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly Excel and production reporting.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
