Assistant Research Professor

Research and Development:
  • Design, develop, and evaluate novel Multimodal AI models and interactive systems.
  • Conduct research leveraging and advancing state-of-the-art AI, ML, and DL techniques to create customized solutions for multidisciplinary applications.
  • Implement and assess systems that integrate various data modalities (e.g., text, image, audio, video).
  • Deliver technical demonstrations of cutting-edge AI prototypes and capabilities.

Leadership and Supervision:
  • Build and lead multidisciplinary teams of students, junior researchers, and senior researchers.
  • Supervise BSc, MSc, and PhD students, fostering world-class research outcomes.
  • Set strategic research directions and manage lab personnel and resources.

Academic Contributions:
  • Teach one graduate course per academic semester in their area of expertise.
  • Publish high-impact research in top-tier international academic conferences and journals.
  • Deliver technical workshops and seminars for industrial and academic audiences.

Collaboration and Outreach:
  • Promote partnerships and collaboration with local and international organizations and industry partners.
  • Represent KINDI at global events, symposiums, and demonstrations.
  • Secure and manage research grants from national and international agencies.
Qualifications
1- Education and Degree Requirements

Ph.D./ Doctoral Degree and Master's degree in a relevant research domain.
(Computer science, computer engineering, artificial intelligence... etc) from an internationally recognized university). The candidate should provide evidence of a PhD transcript or a letter from the university registrar's office:
  • The program from which the candidate obtained their degree is a full-time study program.
  • Details include program length, start and end dates, specialization, mode, etc..

Research Experience and Contributions
1. Proven experience leading academic or industrial research projects.
2. Track record of securing research grants from agencies or industry.

Proven publication track record in the following areas related to emerging topics in AI and cybersecurity, including but not limited to:
  • Generative, Agentic, and Physical AI
  • Foundations of Generative AI and Large Language Models
  • AI for Strategic Sectors and Scientific Discovery
  • AI-based cybersecurity algorithms and systems
  • Trustworthy, Explainable, and Governable AI
  • Robust and Secure AI, including attacks against machine learning models and countermeasures
  • Developing and auditing systems for fairness, transparency, and accountability, ethical AI

Demonstration, symposia, or other outreach events.

  • Teaching
Prior teaching experience is preferred but not mandatory.
