Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Raffles & Fairmont Doha as our new Banquet Supervisor.

The Banquet Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating banquet operations to ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional events, meetings, weddings, and functions in line with the luxury service standards of Raffles & Fairmont Doha. The role leads the banquet service team during events, coordinates closely with Culinary, Events, and other hotel departments, and ensures every function is delivered with professionalism, attention to detail, and personalized service. This is aligned with the property's emphasis on luxury hospitality, guest satisfaction, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise banquet operations before, during, and after events
  • Lead, brief, coach, and motivate the banquet team
  • Ensure seamless execution of meetings, weddings, conferences, and social events
  • Coordinate event setups, room layouts, table arrangements, equipment, and service requirements
  • Ensure all events are delivered in line with Raffles & Fairmont luxury service standards
  • Coordinate closely with Culinary, Events, Stewarding, and other hotel departments
  • Monitor food and beverage service, presentation, timing, and quality
  • Welcome guests and respond promptly to requests, concerns, and special requirements
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and communicate event details, VIP requirements, and special arrangements
  • Monitor team grooming, service etiquette, cleanliness, and professional standards
  • Coach and develop team members through on-the-job training and constructive feedback
  • Monitor banquet equipment and inventory and report shortages, damages, or maintenance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and safety standards
  • Assist the Banquet Manager with operational planning and departmental objectives
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and take prompt action to resolve service issues
  • Complete required event reports, checklists, and post-event procedures

Qualifications

What will you bring to this role?

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in banquet operations, preferably within a luxury hotel
  • Strong knowledge of banquet service, event operations, and food and beverage standards
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Strong guest service orientation with a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards
  • Proficiency in English, with additional languages considered an advantage
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and extended hours based on business requirements
  • Previous experience in a luxury hospitality environment and knowledge of Forbes or LQA standards is an advantage
