Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead and enhance our Bank's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework. Reporting functionally to the Board of Directors and administratively to the CEO, you will be responsible for safeguarding the bank's financial stability, ensuring full regulatory compliance with the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE), and driving risk strategies across all core business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Risk Leadership: Develop, implement, and continuously update the ERM framework, Risk Appetite, and risk registers across the organization.
  • Risk Oversight: Supervise Credit Risk, Operational Risk (RCSA), Market & Liquidity Risk, and Collections/NPL Remediation units.
  • Regulatory Governance: Ensure complete alignment with CBUAE regulations, Basel III/IV standards, ICAAP, Stress Testing, and Recovery Planning.
  • Board & Executive Reporting: Present risk profiles, KRI assessments, and policy recommendations directly to the Board Risk Committee and Senior Management.
  • Operational Resilience: Oversee Business Continuity Risk, Crisis Management, and Third-Party / Outsourcing risk assessments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Risk Management (Master's / MBA preferred).
  • Certifications (Preferred): FRM, PRM, CFA, CAMS, CIA, or professional ERM certification.
  • Experience:
    • 15+ years of core banking experience.
    • 5+ years in a Senior Executive Risk role.
    • Deep expertise in CBUAE regulations and Basel III/IV frameworks.
    • Track record of board-level reporting and interaction with regulatory authorities.
