Cloud Accountant

Job Description:

  • Manage a portfolio of growth-oriented clients in a wide range of industries across Canada, ensuring that deliverables are timely, accurate, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Review year-end trial balances, working papers, and financial statements with hand-off to the tax team.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Lead to resolve any payroll-related issues raised by clients.
  • Collaborate closely with AMLB’s Technology & Operations Specialist to enhance internal client service processes.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies, improve workflow systems, supporting the business QA program.
  • Utilize AI to improve the quality and efficiency of client service delivery and drive sustainable growth without taking on tasks that belong to the bookkeeping or tax teams.
  • Take ownership of delivering timely and accurate bookkeeping, accounts payable, month-end / quarter-end close, sales tax filing preparation and management reporting responsibilities for a portfolio of Canadian clients utilizing a variety of cloud-based software.
  • Prepare monthly or quarterly financial analysis and reporting, including participation in client discussions via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • Respond to all client queries within 1 business day.
  • Enhance sustainability and effectiveness of key processes by recording training videos and creating step by step procedures.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives by identifying process and experience pain points, analyzing root causes and implementing sustainable changes.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of full-cycle cloud bookkeeping or accounting using Quickbooks Online or Xero for a portfolio of 10+ clients simultaneously
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) is preferred
  • Experience completing bank reconciliations, clearing accounts, and completing sales tax filings, payables and invoicing
  • Prioritizes honesty, integrity and confidentiality to develop high-trust relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Self-starter who works well autonomously and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and due dates to produce high quality deliverables
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Teams in particular) and a passion for technology. We use cloud-based software including QuickBooks Online, Xero, Dext Prepare, Karbon, WagePoint and Plooto
  • Demonstrated adaptability to test and quickly learn new concepts and tools
  • Team members are asked to participate in at least one team meeting each week
