The RoleAs a Coding Instructor / Coding Tutor, you will deliver engaging online programming lessons that help learners develop coding knowledge, computational thinking, and practical software development skills. You will create structured lessons, guide students through coding projects, explain technical concepts clearly, and adapt instruction to different experience levels. This part-time, fully remote opportunity offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work with learners from diverse backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive one-to-one or small-group online coding lessons.
- Develop lesson plans, coding exercises, projects, assignments, and digital learning materials.
- Teach programming fundamentals, computational thinking, algorithms, debugging, and software development concepts.
- Provide instruction in languages and platforms such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, HTML, CSS, Scratch, or similar technologies.
- Guide learners through practical coding projects and help them understand programming concepts through hands-on activities.
- Review student code, identify errors, explain debugging techniques, and provide constructive technical feedback.
- Adapt teaching methods and lesson complexity according to students' ages, abilities, experience, and learning objectives.
- Monitor learner progress through assignments, projects, assessments, and regular performance reviews.
- Encourage creativity, logical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance lesson quality, learner engagement, technical development, and overall learning outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional work experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, algorithms, software development, and coding education.
- Practical experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, or similar.
- Familiarity with Git, web development, coding platforms, IDEs, online coding environments, or educational programming tools.
- Experience teaching or mentoring students in coding, programming, computer science, or related technology subjects.
- Excellent communication, presentation, instructional, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to learners with different levels of experience.
- Comfortable using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, online classrooms, and digital learning platforms.
