Composite Technician
Job Purpose The successful candidate will perform aircraft structural / composite maintenance tasks, including airframe repairs/modifications, installments/ replacements & inspections on Airline and Third-Party aircraft in accordance with approved maintenance data, regulatory requirements, and company procedures, ensuring operational safety, airworthiness, and compliance. Key Result Responsibilities - Prepares for and performs repair, modification, installation, and replacement of aircraft composite parts as per task cards, ensuring cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and adherence to operational and safety requirements - Reviews task cards with the Engineer/Supervisor to confirm work scope, documentation, priorities, and safety precautions before starting work. - Conducts inspections, repairs, and modifications to the required standards, accurately identifying, recording, and reporting defects or damage. - Rectifies structural /composite defects & carry out installations/ replacements using approved technical data and instructions from the Engineering Department. - Ensures proper tooling / equipment is drawn from stores to perform tasks, returning all of it in good condition following completion of work. - Execute the assigned task cards and sign off in the Maintenance & Engineering software system in a timely manner & without errors. - Maintains effective communication with engineers, technicians, and relevant teams to ensure smooth coordination, task continuity, and clear handover procedures. - Enforces strict adherence to safety precautions, human factors management, and published maintenance procedures before and during task execution to protect self and others. - Upholds high housekeeping standards and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all time - Controls resource usage, minimizing waste of consumables, preventing repeat work, and optimizing material and repair costs - Provides professional, proactive, and solution-oriented support to operational teams across the airline. - Represents the company with a positive, professional technical image in interactions with internal & external parties, including third-party customers. Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages) - Diploma or Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Structural/Airframe discipline), or equivalent technical discipline. - Ability to perform fabrication activities - Good understanding of aircraft composite materials, repair techniques, approved maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements - Ability to read and interpret technical manual, maintenance task cards, and engineering instructions. - Skilled in using equipment and standard workshop tools. - Basic computer literacy for accessing Maintenance & Engineering software systems and documentation. - Familiarity with inspection techniques and troubleshooting methods. - Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and compliance. - Effective communication and teamwork abilities - Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a dynamic operational environment. - Awareness of human factors in aircraft maintenance activities. - Physically fit and able to work in various operational conditions (e.g., confined spaces, outdoor environments). - Ability to work in rostered shifts based on operational requirements Work Experience - At least 2 years’ experience in aircraft composite repair on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types - At least 2 years’ experience in a Base Maintenance Workshop environment.
