Cyber Security Manage
Role Description The Cyber Security Manager will oversee the security of CEMA-Africa’s information systems, networks, and data assets, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of research and operational information. This part-time hybrid role is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a combination of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring network and system security, managing security tools, and responding to incidents and vulnerabilities. The Cyber Security Manager will develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. The role also involves conducting risk assessments, performing security audits, managing access controls, and coordinating with technical and research teams to embed security in systems, data management, and collaborations. The manager will provide guidance and training on cyber security awareness to staff and partners and support secure integration of cloud services and data platforms. Qualifications - Strong analytical skills to assess security risks, interpret technical data, and recommend effective controls. - Experience with finance and financial services environments, including protection of financial data and secure handling of transactions. - Knowledge of accounting processes as they relate to system controls, segregation of duties, and integrity of financial records. - Auditing skills for conducting information security audits, compliance checks, and reviewing system and process controls. - Proven experience in cyber security management, including incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations. - Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls) and relevant data protection regulations. - Hands-on experience with network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and cloud security tools. - Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) is an advantage. - Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. - Demonstrated ability to work independently in a hybrid setting
