We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Analyst / Information Security Specialist / Security Engineer to monitor, assess, and strengthen the organization’s information security environment. This part-time remote opportunity is ideal for a security professional with strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with IT, infrastructure, engineering, compliance, and business teams to identify security risks and implement effective protective measures.Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security events, alerts, logs, endpoints, networks, applications, and cloud environments for suspicious activity.
- Investigate security incidents, identify root causes, document findings, and coordinate appropriate response and remediation.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, security reviews, configuration checks, and risk assessments across systems and applications.
- Support implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies, procedures, and technical safeguards.
- Manage and monitor security tools including SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, identity platforms, and endpoint security solutions.
- Analyze security threats, vulnerabilities, attack patterns, and emerging risks to recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support penetration testing, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and security hardening activities.
- Maintain security documentation, incident reports, risk registers, audit evidence, and security metrics.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to implement secure configurations, access controls, encryption, authentication, and network security measures.
- Support security awareness initiatives and help employees follow secure technology and information-handling practices.
- Assist with compliance requirements, internal audits, security assessments, and business continuity activities.
- Recommend improvements to security architecture, monitoring capabilities, incident response procedures, and overall cyber resilience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity, information security, SOC operations, security engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of network security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, identity and access management, incident response, and security monitoring.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, firewalls, vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, cloud security, and security assessment tools.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of operating systems, networking protocols, authentication, encryption, cloud platforms, and security architecture.
- Strong analytical, investigative, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to assess security risks, prioritize vulnerabilities, and communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are advantageous but not required.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed IT, engineering, and business teams.
