Job Description

A leading UAE government ministry is seeking an experienced director of assets and warehouses department to lead the strategic and operational management of the ministry’s assets, inventory, and warehouse operations. The role will be responsible for developing departmental strategies, ensuring effective asset governance, optimizing warehouse operations, and implementing policies and procedures in alignment with UAE government regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the assets and warehouses department, ensuring effective management of ministry assets, inventory, and warehouse operations.
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational plans, policies, procedures, and performance indicators to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Manage fixed asset lifecycle activities, including asset registration, tracking, verification, and electronic asset management systems.
  • Lead annual electronic inventory exercises and emergency inventory activities across the ministry.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including stock control, inventory records, storage practices, and asset preservation.
  • Develop warehouse management policies, including minimum and maximum stock levels, inventory controls, and monitoring procedures.
  • Ensure proper protection, maintenance, and organization of ministry assets, materials, equipment, and devices across all warehouses.
  • Review obsolete, damaged, and surplus materials and coordinate disposal processes in accordance with UAE government regulations.
  • Ensure warehouses comply with ministry and UAE health, safety, security, and environmental requirements.
  • Establish operational frameworks, quality standards, methodologies, and performance measurement systems for the department.
  • Manage and evaluate departmental teams, promote teamwork, continuous improvement, and capability development.
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and improvement plans to enhance asset utilization, cost efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments, government entities, and external stakeholders to support strategic objectives.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, governance, and administrative processes related to assets and warehouse management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, financial management, or related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience; or
  • Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, financial management, or related discipline with 7+ years of relevant experience; or
  • PhD in a related discipline with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in asset management, fixed asset control, warehouse management, inventory management, or financial operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing large-scale asset portfolios and warehouse operations.
  • Previous experience within a UAE government entity, ministry, or federal government environment is highly preferred.
