The Role We are seeking an experienced Duty Free Sales Associate / Airport Retail Host to welcome travelers, provide product recommendations, support sales, and deliver exceptional customer experiences within an airport retail environment. The ideal candidate is energetic, polished, multilingual or culturally aware, and comfortable working with international customers in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities - Welcome travelers warmly and provide professional assistance throughout their airport shopping experience. - Approach customers confidently and identify their needs, preferences, destination, budget, and purchasing requirements. - Recommend suitable duty-free products across categories such as fragrance, beauty, cosmetics, confectionery, fashion accessories, electronics, and other approved merchandise. - Provide accurate information about product features, benefits, prices, promotions, availability, and applicable duty-free purchasing conditions. - Demonstrate products and explain differences between brands, collections, sizes, and product variants. - Support customers with gifting recommendations and personalized product selections. - Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and approved payment methods. - Verify pricing, promotions, discounts, receipts, and applicable customer or travel documentation where required. - Support stock replenishment, product displays, shelf organization, merchandising, and inventory checks. - Monitor product availability and communicate low-stock, damaged, missing, or incorrectly displayed merchandise. - Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing retail areas according to airport and brand standards. - Promote current campaigns, seasonal offers, new product launches, loyalty programs, and approved promotional activities. - Support VIP travelers and high-value customers with personalized and discreet service. - Assist customers with product reservations, collection procedures, special orders, or approved airport retail services. - Handle customer questions, complaints, refunds, exchanges, and service-recovery requests professionally. - Coordinate with supervisors, inventory teams, airport operations, security, logistics, and brand representatives when necessary. - Maintain awareness of airport schedules, passenger flow, store operating procedures, and relevant retail requirements. - Monitor sales performance, customer feedback, product demand, and promotional effectiveness. - Maintain accurate sales, inventory, customer, and operational records. - Follow airport security, customs, duty-free, payment, privacy, loss-prevention, and health-and-safety procedures at all times. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Retail Management, Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred. - 3+ years of professional experience in duty-free retail, airport retail, luxury retail, hospitality, beauty, fashion, or premium customer service is preferred. - Strong understanding of retail sales, customer engagement, POS transactions, merchandising, and inventory procedures. - Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. - Confident, polished, friendly, and culturally sensitive personality. - Strong sales, communication, consultation, and relationship-building abilities. - Experience serving international travelers, VIP customers, or high-value clients is advantageous. - Strong product-presentation and storytelling skills with a customer-focused approach to selling. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment. - Excellent attention to detail when handling transactions, products, documentation, and customer requests. - Experience with POS, inventory, CRM, retail-management, or loyalty systems. - Strong understanding of customer-service standards, loss prevention, and retail compliance. - Ability to remain professional when handling complaints, busy periods, and challenging customer situations. - Arabic or additional languages such as Mandarin, Russian, French, Hindi, or other widely spoken travel-market languages are advantageous. - UAE airport, duty-free, aviation, tourism, or luxury-retail experience is highly advantageous. - Retail, hospitality, aviation, or customer-service certifications are advantageous but not required.
