The position ensures that planned and corrective work is completed safely, efficiently, and within approved schedules. The supervisor will coordinate technicians, tools, spare parts, permits, procedures, contractors, and operational interfaces. Key Responsibilities * Plan and supervise preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for plant electrical equipment. * Ensure technicians, tools, materials, spare parts, permits, and technical documents are available before work begins. * Develop daily and weekly maintenance schedules according to equipment priority and operational requirements. * Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, planning, engineering, safety, and contractor teams. * Supervise troubleshooting and repair work to restore equipment safely and minimise plant downtime. * Inspect ongoing maintenance tasks and verify compliance with approved procedures, schedules, and quality standards. * Monitor work progress and provide accurate maintenance status reports. * Confirm that completed work meets technical specifications and equipment reliability requirements. * Provide technical support for complex electrical faults and recurring equipment problems. * Prepare scopes of work for specialist repairs, refurbishment, testing, and external maintenance services. * Support the preparation of maintenance contracts, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and commercial negotiations. * Review contractor repair proposals and confirm compliance with required technical and safety standards. * Prepare or contribute to critical maintenance procedures and electrical risk assessments. * Investigate equipment failures and perform root-cause analysis. * Recommend corrective and preventive measures to reduce repeated faults. * Review fault trends and identify opportunities to improve equipment availability and lifecycle performance. * Ensure electrical maintenance records, fault reports, inspection sheets, and logbooks remain current. * Update equipment history, refurbishment records, test results, and accessory information in approved maintenance systems. * Maintain complete records for repaired, replaced, modified, and commissioned equipment. * Authorise electrical isolation certificates and relevant maintenance work permits within delegated authority. * Confirm equipment is correctly isolated, tested, earthed, and released before maintenance begins. * Ensure permit conditions remain valid throughout job execution. * Participate in daily and weekly toolbox talks covering work scope, hazards, controls, and safe methods. * Promote compliance with company health, safety, environmental, and electrical safety requirements. * Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective measures are implemented before activities resume. * Supervise testing and commissioning of new, repaired, refurbished, or modified electrical equipment. * Verify installations and repairs follow approved drawings, technical standards, and manufacturer instructions. * Review test results and ensure identified deficiencies are corrected before equipment handover. * Participate in shutdown, turnaround, and major overhaul planning. * Coordinate electrical maintenance resources and execution during planned plant outages. * Track shutdown work progress and escalate schedule, material, technical, or safety concerns. * Monitor the availability and condition of maintenance tools, test equipment, lifting accessories, and specialist devices. * Prepare lists of spare parts, consumables, tools, and materials required for planned work. * Raise purchase and material requisitions within approved maintenance schedules. * Inspect newly received electrical materials and verify specifications, quality, and suitability. * Control critical spare availability and identify long-lead items that may affect equipment reliability. * Support maintenance budget preparation, expenditure monitoring, and cost reporting. * Train and guide technicians in safe maintenance methods, troubleshooting practices, and equipment procedures. * Coordinate with other maintenance disciplines when faults involve mechanical, instrumentation, or control interfaces. Ideal Profile * Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent recognised technical qualification. * Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial electrical maintenance experience. * Previous experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, utilities, or continuous-process plant operations is preferred. * Strong working knowledge of preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance. * Practical experience maintaining plant electrical equipment and distribution systems. * Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. * Experience supervising technicians, contractors, and maintenance activities. * Sound understanding of electrical isolation, lockout, work permits, and safe maintenance practices. * Experience preparing maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and scopes of work. * Knowledge of testing, commissioning, refurbishment, and equipment handover requirements. * Ability to investigate equipment failures and perform structured root-cause analysis. * Experience planning maintenance work for shutdowns and major overhauls. * Familiarity with spare-parts planning, material requisitions, and technical inspection of received items. * Ability to maintain accurate fault reports, equipment history, and maintenance documentation. * Strong communication, coordination, reporting, and team-supervision skills. * Ability to work under operational pressure while maintaining safety and technical quality. * Good written and verbal English communication skills. * Strong commitment to equipment reliability, safe operations, and continuous improvement.
