The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineering Manager to lead electronics engineering strategy, hardware development, technical delivery, and multidisciplinary engineering programmes. The ideal candidate will oversee electronic system architecture, circuit design, PCB development, prototyping, testing, product qualification, manufacturing support, and engineering team development while ensuring high standards of performance, reliability, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement electronics engineering strategies, technical standards, development processes, and engineering roadmaps aligned with organizational and product objectives.
  • Lead electronics hardware development from system requirements and architecture through circuit design, simulation, schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, verification, qualification, production, and lifecycle support.
  • Collaborate with Embedded Systems, Firmware, Software, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Product Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Executive Leadership to deliver integrated products.
  • Oversee analog, digital, mixed-signal, power electronics, RF, sensor, communication, control, and embedded hardware development as applicable to product requirements.
  • Manage schematic design, PCB architecture, signal integrity, power integrity, thermal considerations, component selection, design-for-manufacturability (DFM), design-for-test (DFT), and design-for-reliability (DFR).
  • Establish engineering verification and validation processes including design reviews, prototype testing, environmental testing, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), reliability testing, safety testing, and regulatory qualification.
  • Manage component lifecycle, obsolescence, engineering changes, approved vendor lists (AVL), bill of materials (BOM), sourcing risks, and alternative component strategies.
  • Coordinate contract manufacturers, electronics suppliers, test laboratories, engineering consultants, and technology partners to support product development and production readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable UAE regulations, international electronics standards, product safety requirements, EMC requirements, environmental regulations, quality systems, and organizational engineering standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including development milestones, first-pass design success, prototype performance, defect rates, engineering change orders (ECOs), product reliability, testing completion, manufacturing readiness, cost targets, and project delivery performance.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments, design failure analysis, root-cause investigations, design reviews, reliability assessments, and continuous engineering improvement initiatives.
  • Manage engineering budgets, development resources, laboratory equipment, software licences, prototyping costs, external testing, suppliers, and strategic technology investments.
  • Drive digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted engineering analysis, electronic design automation (EDA), simulation, digital twins, automated testing, predictive reliability analytics, engineering workflow automation, and model-based engineering.
  • Utilize Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, Keysight ADS, Jira, Confluence, Git, PLM platforms, ERP systems, and engineering lifecycle management tools to optimize hardware development and engineering operations.
  • Prepare executive dashboards, engineering performance reports, technical assessments, product development reviews, risk analyses, resource forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop electronics engineers, hardware designers, PCB designers, test engineers, embedded hardware specialists, and multidisciplinary engineering teams while fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Engineering Management, or a related field is highly advantageous.
  • Professional engineering registration, Chartered Engineer status, IEEE certifications, or equivalent professional credentials are preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electronics engineering, hardware development, embedded systems, product engineering, or related roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing electronics engineering teams, hardware development programmes, multidisciplinary engineering projects, or complex product development initiatives preferred.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, mixed-signal systems, PCB design, power electronics, embedded hardware, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal management, component selection, testing, and product qualification.
  • Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, Cadence Allegro, Siemens Xpedition, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, Keysight ADS, Jira, Confluence, Git, PLM platforms, ERP systems, and electronic engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted EDA, automated circuit optimization, digital twins, predictive reliability analytics, advanced simulation, automated hardware testing, and intelligent engineering workflows is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, communication, technical decision-making, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, project management, budgeting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple electronics development initiatives while balancing technical performance, reliability, manufacturability, regulatory compliance, component availability, budgets, timelines, and product requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, testing, and product teams, with occasional travel for laboratory testing, supplier meetings, manufacturing reviews, design workshops, customer engagements, and production activities as required.
