High Ownership | Fast-Growth Startup Environment
MishiPay

About Us
We are MishiPay — a fast-growing retail technology company transforming the in-store shopping experience by bringing the convenience of e-commerce into physical stores. Our platform enables customers to scan, pay, and check out seamlessly through a range of self-checkout solutions, including mobile, kiosks, mPOS, and RFID technology, helping retailers reduce friction and improve operational efficiency.
We work with leading global retailers and continue to scale across multiple international markets. As the business grows, we are building a lean, commercially focused finance function capable of supporting a dynamic, multi-entity global operation.

The Role
We are looking for a Finance Associate to join our growing finance team. You will have at least 2-4 years general accounting experience developed in a fast-paced environment, and be able to demonstrate a strong commercial awareness and proactive attitude. Ideally you will be part-qualified.
This role is suited to someone who is technically strong, who’s worked as a Management Accountant or similar, commercially aware, proactive, and comfortable operating within a fast-paced startup environment. This is a high-ownership role, working closely with leadership, with exposure across finance, operations, and commercial decision-making.

We are not looking for a traditional back-office accountant — we are looking for someone who can operate, solve, and own. You will have worked on all aspects of month end and other financial processes.
The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of tasks, drive processes forward independently, and contribute to continuous improvement across the function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the monthly close and reporting process, including journals, reconciliations, and assistance with management accounts
  • Support compliance activities and statutory filings across multiple regions, coordinating with external consultants and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase operational efficiency
  • Assist with audit preparation, investor reporting, and ad-hoc finance projects
  • Contribute to board packs, quarterly reporting materials, and wider business reporting
  • Support commercial finance activities, including:
  • Customer pricing and deal support
  • Reviewing contracts and understanding revenue implications
  • Tracking subscription, transaction, and revenue-related metrics
  • Gain exposure to multi-entity and cross-border finance operations
  • Support payment flow reconciliations and operational finance processes
  • Coordinate with external partners including tax advisors, payroll providers, auditors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of workstreams
  • Work closely with leadership on:
  • Financial modelling
  • KPI tracking and performance analysis
  • Fundraising support and investor-related materials
  • Developing scalable finance processes and controls
Requirements
  • 2–4 years of experience within a finance operations / accounting role.
  • Previous experience within a startup, scale-up, or fast-paced environment preferred
  • Part-qualified CA / ACCA, or strong accounting background
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets capability
  • Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting platforms
  • Good understanding of core accounting principles and finance processes
What Will Make You Successful in This Role
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Comfortable taking ownership and accountability for deliverables
  • Strong organisational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work effectively within fast-changing environments
  • Strong attention to detail alongside commercial awareness
  • Interest in the operational and commercial side of finance, not solely accounting processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
Why Join Us
  • Work closely with leadership within a high-growth international startup
