As a Finance Specialist, you will support the operations of the Indirect Tax Team within Group Financial Reporting, Assurance and Taxation (GFR A&T) by applying your specialist expertise to ensure compliance with indirect tax regulations, including UAE VAT, Excise Tax, and other indirect taxes (excluding ticket taxes). You will help strengthen internal controls and ensure the accuracy and integrity of tax reporting. In addition, you will ensure compliance with Group policies, regulatory requirements, and tax obligations while providing high-quality support and guidance to both internal and external stakeholders.

In This Role, You Will

  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and review their respective activities and functions, and provide compliance assurance to Senior Management on applicable indirect taxes (excluding ticket taxes), process and system enhancements for managing overall risk, and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and specific work instructions, and ensure compliance with the Group Finance Policies and Procedures. Work with external, internal, and government auditors to resolve their queries and observations by providing the required analytical information to ensure the smooth completion of audits.
  • Ensure the timely generation and compilation of tax data reports to support UAE VAT returns and refund filings on a periodic basis. Perform multi-level reconciliations between returns, ERP, e-Invoicing ASP reports, and FTA portal data.
  • Prepare, review, and validate tax reporting outputs, including tax returns, reconciliations, and management assurance reports.
  • Participate in discussions on VAT and e-Invoicing implementation for current and new business processes, as well as system changes within Emirates Group. Manage FTA audits, ensure UAE VAT/e-Invoicing compliance, and conduct regular reviews of processes and systems impacting UAE VAT reporting.
  • Support e-Invoicing implementation projects and participate in User Acceptance Testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Indirect Tax strategy and continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced compliance with indirect tax requirements.
  • Support outstation VAT and e-Invoicing compliance by generating and sharing timely reports in line with local regulatory requirements.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Qualification in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Indirect Taxation, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience in a Big 4 firm or a large organisation is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Expert level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Access, Power BI, AI tools, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, reconciliation processes, auditing principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
