The Role

As a Financial Accountant / GL Accountant / General Accountant, you will oversee general ledger activities, maintain accurate financial records, and prepare timely financial reports that support business performance and compliance. Working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure accounting accuracy, strengthen financial controls, and contribute to continuous process improvement. This part-time, fully remote opportunity offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to collaborate with international teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Record journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset transactions, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely financial reporting.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits by preparing financial documentation and responding to audit requests.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting accuracy, and strengthen financial controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accounting efficiency, financial governance, compliance, and operational performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of professional work experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting, general ledger management, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end closing, fixed asset accounting, and financial controls.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fully remote working environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams.
