Glazier Helper
Responsibilities & Tasks:
Load, unload and transport construction materials
Perform pre-operational inspection
Read blueprints to determine work requirements
Instruct apprentices
Clean and pile salvaged materials
Perform routine maintenance work
Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
Repair glass doors and other glass structures
Follow emergency and safety procedures
Load, move, sort and pile materials and supplies
Utilize hand and power tools
Assist with assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products
Assist glaziers and installers with measuring, positioning, lifting, holding, and securing glass panels, window inserts, mirrors, frames, and related components.
Apply basic sealants, caulking, weatherstripping, or protective materials as instructed.
Employment Requirements:
Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience:
5 years or more
Experience and specialization:
Ability to work at various residential and commercial job sites.
Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of an installation team.
Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, or construction site safety is an asset.
Punctual, reliable, and able to work 35 hours per week.
