<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br /> <strong>Timely Delivery:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ensure prompt and efficient delivery of catering items to designated airport locations, adhering to airline specifications and established SOPs. <p><strong>Coordination with Airside Loading Team (ALT):</strong></li> <li>Assist the ALT with loading and offloading catering supplies onto aircraft, ensuring all flight requirements are met before departure.<br /> <strong>High Loader Operations:</strong></li> <li>Safely position and operate high-loader equipment near aircraft, following SOPs to enable smooth and secure loading/offloading activities.<br /> <strong>Vehicle Inspections:</strong></li> <li>Conduct comprehensive pre-trip inspections of vehicles, identifying and reporting mechanical issues to avoid disruptions during airside operations.<br /> <strong>Cargo Handling:</strong></li> <li>Pre-cool vehicle chillers and secure cargo belts to prevent damage to catering supplies and equipment during transit.<br /> <strong>Safe Driving Practices:</strong></li> <li>Drive in compliance with U.A.E. traffic laws and Dubai International Airport (DIA) ramp safety regulations, ensuring operational safety at all times.<br /> <strong>Health & Safety Compliance:</strong></li> <li>Adhere to company Health & Safety policies and vehicle regulations, reporting any observed damages or defects to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.<br /> <strong>Job Context</strong></li> <li>Emirates Flight Catering operates one of the busiest in-flight catering facilities in the Middle East, located at Dubai International Airport, serving over 100 airlines 24/7.</li> </ul> <p>The Airside Operations department oversees transport, loading teams, and the Operations Control Centre to manage airside activities effectively. A critical aspect of the role is ensuring timely and accurate delivery of catering supplies and supporting the ALT in meeting all pre-departure flight provisioning requirements. Adherence to Food Safety, Health & Safety (HSE) standards, and DIA ramp safety regulations is essential for successful execution in this dynamic environment.</p> <ul> <li><strong>Essential Requirements and Competencies</strong><br /> <strong>Qualifications:</strong></li> <li>High School Certificate or equivalent (mandatory).</li> <li>Valid U.A.E. driving license (#4 Heavy Truck) required.<br /> <strong>Work Experience</strong></li> <li>At least 5 years of experience in a logistics or transport environment, preferably as a truck driver or in a similar role.<br /> <strong>Skills and Knowledge:</strong></li> <li>Proficiency in written and spoken English with strong attention to detail.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance, including tire pressure checks and monitoring oil and water levels.</li> <li>Familiarity with First Aid, safety protocols, and basic firefighting is preferred.</li> <li>Ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded vehicle.</li> <li>Eligibility to obtain a Restricted Area Security Pass.</li> <li>Physical and Teamwork Abilities</li> <li>Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks, such as bending, kneeling, stooping, and ladder use.</li> <li>Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team environment.</li> <li>Willingness to work in shifts as required.</li> </ul>
