Working under senior technical leadership, the position manages defined design tasks while coordinating interfaces with traffic, drainage, structures, utilities, landscape, lighting, ITS, and BIM specialists. Reliable geometric design, disciplined quality checks, and early identification of conflicts contribute directly to safer roads, efficient project delivery, and reduced design changes during construction. Key Responsibilities * Develop highway and roadway geometry through concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages. * Create horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, road cross sections, grading layouts, and digital corridor models. * Prepare engineering calculations, quantity information, technical reports, design notes, and supporting project documentation. * Produce coordinated drawings that comply with approved BIM, CAD, drafting, and document control requirements. * Analyze survey information and incorporate existing ground conditions, site limitations, and infrastructure constraints into design development. * Coordinate roadway geometry with traffic systems, drainage networks, utilities, bridges and structures, landscaping, street lighting, ITS, and related disciplines. * Review potential utility conflicts and work with multidisciplinary teams to develop workable design resolutions. * Assist with alternative design assessments and Value Engineering exercises covering performance, cost, constructability, and technical feasibility. * Participate in road safety reviews and design risk assessments to identify and address potential engineering concerns. * Support preparation of technical packages required for RTA, Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other authority approvals. * Manage assigned design deliverables against agreed programme milestones, project budgets, and technical requirements. * Carry out detailed checks of calculations, drawings, models, quantities, and documentation before issuing work for review. * Respond efficiently to technical review comments and maintain consistency across revised design information. * Maintain controlled design records, drawing revisions, technical correspondence, and project documentation. * Attend multidisciplinary coordination sessions, stakeholder meetings, technical workshops, and client discussions when required. * Provide design clarification during construction and assist with technical queries and site-related engineering matters. * Follow established quality procedures throughout preparation, checking, submission, and revision of engineering deliverables. Ideal Profile * Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. * 4-8 years of professional experience involving highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure design. * Previous experience on infrastructure projects within the UAE is preferred. * Exposure to RTA or comparable transport authority assignments would be beneficial. * Sound capability in geometric design, road corridor modelling, grading, earthworks, and pavement layout development. * Practical experience coordinating highways with utilities and other infrastructure disciplines. * Familiarity with quantity estimation and preparation of technical engineering reports. * Working knowledge of AASHTO guidance, RTA Road Design Standards, Dubai Municipality requirements, and local utility regulations. * Able to interpret topographic surveys, engineering constraints, and multidisciplinary design information accurately. * Comfortable working in BIM-enabled and digitally coordinated engineering environments. * Strong analytical approach with consistent attention to dimensions, levels, design criteria, and technical accuracy. * Ability to manage individual work packages and meet deadlines within a consultancy project environment. * Effective communicator who can collaborate with engineers, designers, BIM specialists, clients, and stakeholders. * Willingness to develop deeper technical expertise through project exposure, design reviews, and continuous professional learning.
