Role Description

Lazer is seeking a Senior Magento Engineer to join our Commerce Team. As an engineer on this team, you will play a crucial role in migrating, implementing, upgrading, and optimizing Magento Commerce platforms for large enterprise brands. You will work closely with clients, lead projects, and be responsible for ensuring seamless integrations, performance optimization, and bug fixes across the Magento ecosystem. Your expertise will contribute to creating scalable, high-performance eCommerce solutions, and you will have the opportunity to work with one of the strongest Magento-focused engineering teams in the market.

Please Note: This is a Contract position (hourly rate). The ideal candidate should be able to align their working hours to Eastern Time (ET) or Pacific Time (PT).

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with Magento Commerce (Adobe Commerce).
  • Experts in PHP, Magento 2, MySQL, and GraphQL with strong backend development experience.
  • Extensive experience with Magento upgrades, performance tuning, and debugging complex eCommerce applications.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for hosting and scaling Magento applications.
  • Understanding of Magento theming, PWA (Progressive Web Apps), and modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience integrating Magento with ERP, CMS, OMS, and WMS solutions.
  • Proactive problem solvers with strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Lead full-scale Magento Commerce implementations, migrations, and upgrades for enterprise brands.
  • Migrate eCommerce platforms from legacy systems such as Salesforce, Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce to Magento.
  • Manage large-scale data migrations, including customer, order, and product data.
  • Upgrade Magento versions to the latest releases while ensuring backward compatibility and seamless operation.
  • Diagnose and resolve infrastructure, performance bottlenecks, and server-related issues to optimize site speed and reliability.
  • Implement scalability improvements for high-traffic eCommerce platforms.
  • Debug and resolve issues related to broken functionality, integrations, or third-party extensions.
  • Ensure PCI compliance, security best practices, and performance optimizations in all Magento solutions.
  • Develop custom Magento modules, extensions, and integrations for ERP (e.g., NetSuite), OMS, WMS, and third-party platforms.
  • Work with headless commerce architectures, integrating Magento with React, Next.js, or Vue.js frontends.
  • Develop and maintain APIs and microservices that connect Magento to other enterprise systems.
