About The Role As HR Officer at City University Ajman, you will support the delivery of core HR operations and services while ensuring full compliance with University policies and UAE Labour Law . You'll play a key role in supporting both employees and management throughout the employee lifecycle, contributing to a compliant, engaged, and positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across all University departments and colleges
  • Manage end-to-end HR operations: onboarding, employee records, contract management, and offboarding
  • Support recruitment and selection — job postings, CV screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication
  • Prepare HR documentation including offer letters, contracts, confirmations, warnings, and employee correspondence
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records (electronic and physical)
  • Coordinate with PRO and government relations teams on visas, labor cards, Emirates ID, and related documentation
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with UAE Labour Law and internal HR policies
  • Support payroll inputs, leave management, attendance tracking, and employee data updates
  • Respond to employee queries with timely, professional HR guidance
  • Assist with performance management and appraisal documentation
  • Support employee engagement, training, and staff development initiatives
  • Prepare HR reports and dashboards (headcount, turnover, leave, and other key metrics)
  • Assist with disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and employee relations matters
  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook
  • Support audits, accreditation processes, and compliance documentation
  • Contribute to HR projects aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory
  • Proven experience in an HR Officer or similar HR operations role
  • Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law and HR best practices
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and administrative skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in HR systems, MS Office, and HR documentation processes
  • Experience in higher education or institutional environments is an advantage
