Investment Management – Fixed Income – Administrative Assistant to Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager Abu Dhabi The Emerging Markets Debt team is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious, and exceptionally organized candidate to provide high-level administrative support to a portfolio manager based in Abu Dhabi. The individual will work closely with portfolio managers, research associates, and analysts across the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in emerging markets, global events, and the investment research process. For an individual who excels in the core responsibilities of the role, there may, over time and subject to business needs, be opportunities for broader exposure to the team’s research activities. Such exposure may include supporting the preparation of research materials, maintaining contact and meeting databases, coordinating complex research travel, preparing regional news summaries, and assisting with macroeconomic, political, and country-level background analysis. The role offers close proximity to the investment process and significant exposure to the team’s research process, including interactions with government officials, central bankers, ministries of finance, and representatives of multilateral institutions such as the IMF and World Bank. The team analyses the macroeconomic and political environments of more than one hundred countries and translates these fundamental views into investment ideas. Our research process leverages traditional news and crowd-sourced media, economic data releases, relationships with economists and political analysts, and on the ground travel to meet with policy makers and in-country experts. We exploit both long and short investment opportunities and use a variety of sovereign bonds, currencies, equities, and other cash and derivative instruments in order to execute our strategies. Basic Purpose: To provide in-office administrative support to a Managing Director Portfolio Manager on the Emerging markets Debt Team. Over time, exceptional performance in the core responsibilities of the role may create opportunities for broader exposure to research-related work, subject to business needs and the discretion of the investment team. Primary Responsibilities: Provide proactive, detail-oriented administrative and business support to a Portfolio Manager, including - but are not limited to- complex calendar management, travel coordination, meeting scheduling, preparation of itineraries and agendas, and expense processing. Support selected research-related tasks at the discretion of the team and subject to business priorities. Demonstrate flexibility, responsiveness, and the ability to support a global investment team across time zones. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record. Highly motivated, intellectually curious, and genuinely interested in emerging markets and the investment research process. Anticipates needs, exercises sound judgment, identifies process improvements, solves problems independently, operates with a high degree of ownership Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities, variable hours, and evolving team needs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; additional language capability is a plus. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines. Must be able to work both independently and as a team and adapt to various needs of the Fixed Income Group. Comfortable interacting professionally and confidently with senior external stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, and representatives of international financial institutions. Must maintain strict confidentiality. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word. Familiarity with programming or automation and LLM tools is highly advantageous.
