IT Network Engineer – LAN/WAN Specialist
About the roleThe IT Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain the organization’s LAN and WAN infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and security across all sites. You will work closely with IT operations, project managers, and senior leadership to align network solutions with business needs.Key responsibilitiesDesign, approve, and operationalize LAN/WAN systems and procedures.Monitor and support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, MPLS, and Internet services.Develop secure Internet connectivity solutions and enforce access controls.Assess, plan, and specify hardware, operating systems, and software for new or upgraded network deployments.Create and maintain network policies, procedures, and documentation.Review vendor documentation for completeness and accuracy.Analyze system logs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal hardware performance.Continuously evaluate network performance and recommend enhancements.Support IT network‑related incidents and ensure compliance with company policies.Collaborate on a comprehensive controls compliance program with senior IT leaders.Required profileDegree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.Professional certifications such as Cisco, HP, Juniper, MCITP, MCSE, or VMware.Experience with Microsoft Server administration (2008/2012), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and PowerShell scripting.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Familiarity with ITIL framework and risk assessment processes.Required skillsLAN and WAN design and managementMPLSNetwork Operating SystemsInternet servicesMicrosoft Server 2008/2012Active DirectoryDNS, DHCP, DFSPowerShell scriptingCisco networkingHP networkingJuniper networkingVMware virtualizationMCITP certificationMCSE certificationITIL framework
