Lead Gym Attendant
<h3>Job Summary</h3> Lead Gym Attendant assist the Community Services Supervisor with the training and supervision of gym attendant and equipment checkout attendant. Ensure that equipment is checked constantly for safe operation and tagged visibly clear with a notice when it is unsafe or unserviceable. Ensure that clean towels are on hand and in sufficient quantities and readily available to support gym patrons. The Attendant maintain a sufficient supply of cleaning and disinfectant solution daily. Additionally, they provide courteous, friendly and professional assistance to. Furthermore, they perform additional recreational duties as prescribed by the Community Services Supervisor.This position generally ensures the facilities remain clean and that they promote a friendly atmosphere, by assisting patrons with their questions/equipment needs. Attendants are responsible for maintaining the highest possible standard of service. <h3>Major Job Activities</h3> <ul> <li>Assist Community Services Supervisor with implementation of quality, safety, environmental and other administrative affairs.</li> <li>Provide oversight of government furnished property.</li> <li>Monitor and ensure accurate accountability of all gym machine and equipment.</li> <li>Conduct daily inventory of GFE.</li> <li>Ensure proper use of disinfectant solutions to ensure equipment is free of bacteria between use by patrons (particularly seats, handles, steps, and pedals).</li> <li>Ensure that equipment is checked constantly for safe operation and tagged visibly clear with a notice when it is unsafe or unserviceable.</li> <li>Ensure that clean towels are on hand and in sufficient quantities and readily available to support gym patrons.</li> <li>Ensure that no towel or personal equipment is issued without being shown of an approved Gym Membership Card. Ensure attendants will write down the customer's information on the sign-out sheet and have the customers sign the sheet upon sign-out and sign-in of equipment and/or towels.</li> <li>Monitor and Maintain sufficient supply of cleaning and disinfecting solution daily to keep equipment clean and free of bacteria. Inform and submit order request for cleaning materials and disinfectant solution to the supervisor</li> <li>Ensures that at least one attendant is present at the counter at all times during gym operations.</li> <li>Ensure standards of appearance, cleaning and maintenance policies and plans are established and implemented to include outside areas within 50 feet around facilities.</li> <li>Responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of the equipment and services.</li> <li>Perform actual inventory of equipment every shift .Make sure that all equipment are clean and disinfected prior to sign out. Monitor & update all personal equipment for sign-out.</li> <li>Monitor the equipment or items that are signed-out at the Checkout Counter.</li> <li>Monitor daily cleaning and policing of all areas.</li> <li>Check and monitor alignment, sanitation, and condition of Cardiovascular Machines & Weight Equipment.</li> <li>Ensure all water coolers have sufficient supply of bottled water.</li> <li>Make sure that every area has enough disinfectant bottles and maxi rolls.</li> <li>Report immediately to supervisor any incident/accident and Unreturned/Missing/Damaged or lost items.</li> <li>Responsible for the gym cleanliness - wipe mirrors, check the trash bin can if full.</li> <li>Remove dust and debris underneath the machines.</li> <li>Checking of Chemical Cabinet Inventory to make sure that there is no other material inside.</li> <li>Encode sign-out/in checklist daily per shift. Monthly filing of all checklists. Monitoring of all checklist .Weekly update the First Aid kit and daily checking of AED. Daily monitoring and checking of First Aid materials in all areas.</li> <li>Enforce the Policy at all times. Provide courteous, friendly and professional assistance to patrons.</li> <li>Perform additional recreational duties as prescribed by the Community Services Supervisor.</li> <li>Customer/Public Relations. Addressing concerns/suggestions.</li> <li>Performs other duties and assignments as required.</li> </ul> <h3>Material & Equipment Directly Used</h3> Must be capable of operating a personal computer equipped with Microsoft software. Be able to produce “Word” documents, “Excel” spreadsheets, and “Power Point”. <h3>Working Environment</h3> <ul> <li>In this position there is exposure to physical and working conditions where serious accidents or injuries may occur, exposure to disagreeable noise elements and prolonged high ambient temperatures.</li> <li>Depending on event schedules, this position will require early mornings/late evenings and outdoor work.</li> <li>This position requires daily contact with all members of the Community, as well as, communication with the Foreign National staff.</li> </ul> <h3>Physical Activities</h3> Must be able to lift/push/pull a minimum of 45 lbs. <h3>Qualifications</h3> <strong>Minimum Qualification</strong> One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. College Degree preferred. <strong>Experience</strong> <ul> <li>Must have background in recreation or fitness centers and gym machines / equipment</li> <li>Must be knowledgeable in the Department’s Operation and Manning i.e. organizing workflow ensuring employees understands and perform their daily tasks/duties.</li> <li>Customer service knowledge. Possess knowledge of safety and environmental issues as they relate to Gymnasium Management.</li> </ul> <strong>Skills</strong> <ul> <li>Must be fluent in both spoken and written English and able to communicate effectively.</li> <li>Must possess computer operational skills including basic software and hardware troubleshooting.</li> <li>Excellent knowledge of MS Office - Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. Able to operate PDF, Internet, and Email.</li> </ul>
