AFG College with the University of Aberdeen is an established and exciting higher education partnership forged in 2017. The partnership has created the first UK University in the State of Qatar offering mainstream degrees outside of Qatar Foundation. AFG College with the University of Aberdeen is looking to appoint full-time staff at Senior Lecturer/Lecturer level in Computing Science, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence.

JOB DESCRIPTION

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • You will work with AFG College with University of Aberdeen faculty and Programme Leader/s to deliver the curriculum to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • You will have responsibility for the assurance and enhancement of the University’s academic standards within the course(s).
  • You will develop and deliver an outstanding student experience across the course(s).
  • You may be asked to take on additional academic roles as part of your wider academic role.
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To contribute to the development, organisation and day to day management and delivery of courses, ensuring its relevance, currency, coherence, attractiveness and distinctiveness to students and employers.
  • To contribute to new programme and / or course development, as introduced from time to time.
  • To produce course information as required, including but not exclusively, lesson plans, course evaluation reports, peer to peer observation.
  • To be responsible for the development, enhancement, preparation and delivery of teaching, learning, assessment and feedback across a range of course(s).
  • To be responsible for the development and implementation of innovative practice in teaching, learning, assessment and feedback across the course(s).
  • To ensure that teaching on the course(s) is informed by contemporary research and scholarship.
  • In collaboration with the appointed University Course Coordinator, set, mark and moderate coursework, assignments and examinations.
  • To undertake teaching duties consistent with your areas of expertise and appropriate to the requirements of the programme(s).
  • To contribute to an outstanding student experience in line with AFG College with the University of Aberdeen strategies.
