<p>Litigation Associate</p><p>British Virgin Islands</p><p>An established international offshore law firm is seeking a <strong>Litigation Associate</strong> to join its BVI team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to work on sophisticated, cross-border matters within a highly regarded international practice.</p><p><br></p><p>The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers and take responsibility for a varied portfolio of contentious matters, including <strong>contentious trusts and companies, cross-border fraud, insolvency and other complex commercial disputes</strong>.</p><p><br></p><p>The Opportunity</p><p>You will have the opportunity to:</p><ul><li>Manage and coordinate client matters under the direction of partners.</li><li>Conduct legal research and analysis and prepare legal opinions.</li><li>Draft pleadings, correspondence, legal documents and other court-related materials.</li><li>Review and summarise complex legal and commercial documentation.</li><li>Prepare cases and matters for court and assist with litigation strategy.</li><li>Liaise directly with clients and provide legal advice under appropriate supervision.</li><li>Work on sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional matters alongside colleagues across international offices.</li><li>Support and mentor junior lawyers and support staff.</li><li>Contribute to business development initiatives, including client events, seminars, presentations and thought leadership.</li><li>Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new business.</li><li>Assist with the efficient management of matters, including time recording, billing, collections and file management.</li><li>Ensure compliance with client onboarding, CDD and AML requirements.</li><li>Contribute to special projects and other initiatives as required by the partners.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>About You</p><p>We are looking for a commercially minded and motivated litigator with:</p><ul><li><strong>3–5 years' post-qualification experience (PQE)</strong>.</li><li>Ideally, admission or experience within the <strong>British Virgin Islands</strong>.</li><li>Relevant litigation experience gained within a major or international law firm, including experience within a regional office of an international practice.</li><li>Strong experience in commercial litigation, contentious trusts and companies, fraud, insolvency or related disputes.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal English.</li><li>Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex matters effectively.</li><li>Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.</li><li>Confidence working independently while knowing when to seek appropriate guidance.</li><li>Strong IT and document-management skills, with familiarity with legal research platforms.</li><li>An understanding of time recording, billing and other financial disciplines within a professional-services environment.</li><li>A proactive, commercially aware and client-focused approach.</li><li>Energy, enthusiasm and flexibility.</li></ul><p>The successful candidate will also be willing to work towards <strong>Higher Rights Advocacy Qualification (HRAQ)</strong> in due course.</p><p><br></p><p>What We Are Looking For</p><p>We are seeking someone who is:</p><p><strong>Client-focused</strong> – committed to delivering high-quality, commercially practical legal advice.</p><p><strong>Proactive</strong> – able to take ownership of matters, identify issues and use initiative to find solutions.</p><p><strong>Collaborative</strong> – comfortable working as part of an international, multi-disciplinary team.</p><p><strong>Commercially minded</strong> – interested in developing client relationships and contributing to the growth of the practice.</p><p><strong>Detail-oriented</strong> – disciplined and methodical, with excellent drafting and analytical capabilities.</p><p>International Opportunity</p><p>This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career within the <strong>British Virgin Islands' international legal market</strong>, working on sophisticated cross-border disputes and alongside experienced lawyers across multiple jurisdictions.</p><p>Preference will be given to <strong>BVI Belongers and candidates who already hold an unrestricted right to work in the British Virgin Islands</strong>.
