Manager Cargo Network Operations

About the Role:

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an opportunity to join Cargo Operations department as Manager Cargo Network Operation, based in Doha, Qatar.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead Cargo Operation for Asia, ISC, Africa & Middle Eastern regions. You will manage all cargo operations and freighter activities across the Qatar Airways Network in co-ordination with the regional operations teams. This relates to effective management of all Ground Handling Agents and Ground Service Providers and to ensure that highest levels of services are provided and maintained in accordance with the airline’s requirements and procedures.

You will be responsible for the management and review operational performance and improve cargo standards at all stations.

Accountabilities include but not limited to:

Strategic

  • Overall responsibility to define set and implement systems procedures for cargo operational staff within the network to ensure proper guidelines are given for smooth operational functions, relating to all cargo operations including freighter and passenger aircraft.
  • Co-ordinate and design effective reporting mechanism to ensure up to date information from the outstation is maintained and corrective actions are applied to improve service levels.
  • Plan future changes in operational needs and develop new working practices.
  • Open new freighter stations and ensure all ground work is done for safe commercial operations.

Operational:

  • Responsible for cargo actives out the outstation relating to cargo build up and optimization of flight as laid down in the cargo booking list.
  • Ensure that quality checks are completed on all cargo built before loading of the cargo commences on all Qatar Airways Freighter Aircraft. This relates to lasing, pallets nets and the standards applied from the CSM, FHM and COM.
  • Ensure that inspections are carried out by Qatar Airways staff/representatives after all loading activities on board freighter aircraft have taken place relating to loading and securing of on-board cargo load.
  • Interact with Ground Handling Agents/QR inter-departments/ Customs and Government authorities to obtain information/update governmental regulations to support cargo operation and avoid penalties legal implications.
  • Conduct frequent station visits and undertake performance review meetings with the Ground Handling Agent and where required ensure specific QR personnel are available to attend and travel to freighter stations in absence of Load Control staff to release load sheets.
  • Ensure OTP is maintained relating to freighter operations at outstations.

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience
