The Role

We are seeking an experienced Media Relations Assistant / Corporate PR Helper to support media outreach, public relations activities, press materials, corporate communications, and stakeholder coordination.

The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, media-aware, and comfortable working with journalists, internal teams, agencies, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily media-relations and corporate public-relations activities.
  • Assist with researching journalists, editors, publications, media outlets, influencers, and relevant industry contacts.
  • Maintain accurate media contact databases, distribution lists, coverage records, and communication histories.
  • Assist with drafting press releases, media pitches, announcements, briefing notes, company updates, and other PR materials.
  • Coordinate media inquiries and ensure requests are directed to the appropriate spokesperson or department.
  • Monitor news coverage, industry publications, social media, and relevant online discussions for mentions of the organization and its competitors.
  • Prepare daily or weekly media-monitoring reports and highlight significant coverage, opportunities, or potential reputational concerns.
  • Support media outreach campaigns and follow up with journalists regarding approved pitches and press materials.
  • Coordinate interviews, media briefings, press meetings, webinars, events, and other media engagements.
  • Prepare media briefing documents, talking points, biographies, fact sheets, presentations, and background materials.
  • Assist with corporate announcements, product launches, events, campaigns, and other communications initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing, content, legal, executive, sales, and other teams to ensure communications are accurate and properly approved.
  • Help maintain consistent corporate messaging, tone of voice, branding, and key company information across communications.
  • Assist with preparing internal communications, newsletters, corporate updates, and stakeholder announcements.
  • Support social-media and digital-communications teams with approved corporate news and media content.
  • Maintain organized archives of press releases, media coverage, photographs, videos, statements, and other PR materials.
  • Track PR activities, media responses, coverage quality, audience reach, and campaign performance.
  • Assist with preparing reports and presentations for management and communications teams.
  • Support crisis-communications preparation by maintaining contact lists, templates, briefing materials, and approved communication procedures.
  • Escalate sensitive media inquiries, negative coverage, reputational risks, or potential crisis issues to senior communications personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality of corporate information, executive communications, media strategies, announcements, and sensitive business matters.
  • Build professional relationships with media contacts and external communications partners.
  • Assist with PR agencies, event partners, photographers, production teams, and other external service providers.
  • Follow corporate communications policies, approval procedures, brand guidelines, privacy requirements, and applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in public relations, media relations, corporate communications, journalism, marketing communications, or a related role is preferred.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, research, and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional understanding of media relations, press communications, corporate messaging, and reputation management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and communications projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to verify information before publication.
  • Confident communication with journalists, executives, agencies, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, email, social-media platforms, and digital communication tools.
  • Experience with media-monitoring, PR-management, CRM, or content-management platforms is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of UAE and GCC media landscapes is advantageous.
  • Experience in financial services, technology, hospitality, retail, real estate, luxury, or corporate communications is advantageous.
  • Additional languages such as Arabic, French, Mandarin, or Russian are advantageous.
  • PR, communications, journalism, digital marketing, or related professional certifications are advantageous but not required.
