Our Managed Payroll division is undergoing an exciting transformation as we migrate education clients to a new platform and we’re looking for a skilled Project & Compliance Manager to lead this critical work.

As Migration and Compliance Project Manager, you’ll play a central role in the success of this project owning the roadmap, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and embedding a culture of compliance throughout. This is a cross-functional leadership role, ideal for someone with deep payroll knowledge, strong project management skills, and a passion for improving processes that serve schools and educators across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the project plan, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, operations, data protection) to drive smooth, compliant platform migration.
  • Monitor risks and maintain a risk register, taking proactive corrective action when needed.
  • Conduct internal audits and embed quality control across each project phase.
  • Support client and internal training using a range of formats written, verbal, video to ensure accessibility and knowledge retention.
  • Maintain and update payroll policies, procedures, and documentation as regulations evolve.
  • Drive continuous improvement and prepare the team for ISO9001 and PAS Accreditation.
  • Capture and implement lessons learned across cohorts to improve efficiency and outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in payroll and pension compliance, ideally within the education sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and governance.
  • Background in project management, including risk tracking, milestone planning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure while supporting a collaborative, team-first culture.
  • Passion for clear, inclusive training and documentation that supports both clients and colleagues.
