National Consultant - Country Programme Evaluation
Responsibilities
- Review relevant documents including strategic notes, project documents, and monitoring reports to identify evaluation topics
- Contribute to the development of inclusive evaluation methodologies and data collection tools
- Support interviews, focus group discussions, and consultations by taking detailed notes
- Provide translation and interpretation support as necessary
- Capture results, challenges, gaps, and learning pertinent to the evaluation topic
- Provide inputs to preliminary findings and synthesis reports
Requirements
- Master's degree in gender studies, development studies, sociology, political science, or related disciplines
- Minimum 7 years of experience in research, evaluations, or assessments with development organizations
- Demonstrated expertise in gender equality, women's rights, and women's economic empowerment
- Strong knowledge of national development policies and experience working in India
- Specific knowledge of Tamil Nadu and its development context
- Proficiency in English and ability to communicate in Tamil
- Ability to apply ethical evaluation standards and human rights principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UN Women and/or the United Nations system
