Due to the upcoming retirement of the incumbent, NB Power is seeking to recruit its next Vice President (VP), People and Culture.

Reporting directly to the CEO and as a member of the senior management team, the Vice President, People and Culture is accountable for providing effective strategies that enhance employees’ skills and experiences while strengthening business operations.

This role leads talent management, health and safety, environment and human resource strategies, initiatives, programs and services to meet the organization’s current and future workforce needs. It also provides leadership to NB Power’s engagement and participation with First Nations.

The Vice President, People and Culture works in partnership with the business to identify and develop the priorities, initiatives and services that will enhance employee performance to achieve NB Power’s strategic objectives.

As a successful champion of change, you have demonstrated experience leading the design, development and implementation of effective, sustainable and innovative approaches to manage all aspects of human resources during a period of organizational change.

Ideally your background includes a Bachelor’s degree or greater in a relevant field combined with at least 10 years of progressive senior human resources leadership experience in another large, complex, unionized and preferably industrial setting where health and safety is a significant focus. You bring substantial expertise in talent management, health and safety, employment, compensation, benefits, and labour relations.

You are an inclusive and empowering leader with a well-earned reputation as a strategic thinker who is collaborative, client-service orientated and a team player. People appreciate you for your visible and engaging style and your innate ability to engender trust, confidence and credibility at all levels. A Human Resources designation (CHRE, CHRL or CHRP) and proficiency in both official languages are not required but would be considered assets.
