Position: Dental Assistant / Front Office – Hybrid Role

Pay: $19–$23 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Part-Time with Potential for Full-Time

Position Overview : We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant / Front Office team member who is comfortable working in both the clinical and administrative areas of the practice. This is a hybrid part-time position with potential to become full-time, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and is interested in developing leadership skills as our practice continues to grow.

Clinical / Back Office Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during exams, restorative procedures, and basic dental procedures
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories
  • Take digital X-rays and assist with clinical charting
  • Assist with iTero Lumina scans
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical environment
  • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after treatment
  • Follow OSHA, sterilization, and infection-control protocols
  • Assist with smooth patient flow between the front and back office
Front Office / Administrative Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide a warm, welcoming experience
  • Answer phones and assist patients with questions
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Manage patient flow and appointment schedules
  • Verify dental insurance benefits
  • Assist with basic billing and payment questions
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records
  • Work efficiently within Open Dental is a plus
  • Collect patient payments and assist with account-related questions when needed
Treatment Coordination
  • Present treatment plans clearly and confidently
  • Explain recommended procedures, estimated costs, and payment options
  • Help patients understand the importance and value of recommended treatment
  • Answer patient questions and address concerns professionally
  • Follow up with patients who have pending or unscheduled treatment
  • Help improve treatment acceptance through excellent patient communication
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of dental assisting experience preferred
  • Comfortable working in both the front and back office
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and basic dental insurance concepts
  • Experience with Open Dental is a plus
  • Experience with digital X-rays and/or iTero preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
