About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Precision Agriculture Technologist to revolutionize farming operations through the strategic application of technology. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere while supporting agricultural clients across diverse regions. You will be instrumental in implementing and managing cutting-edge technologies such as GPS, sensors, drones, and data analytics to optimize crop production, resource efficiency, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Implement, calibrate, and maintain precision agriculture equipment, including GPS systems, variable rate applicators, and soil sensors. Collect, process, and analyze large datasets from various sources (e.g., satellite imagery, drone surveys, farm machinery) to generate actionable insights. Develop detailed field maps and management zones for targeted application of inputs like fertilizers and pesticides. Provide remote technical support and training to farmers and farm managers on using precision agriculture tools and software. Troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and data integration. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in precision agriculture and data management. Requirements A diploma or degree in Agriculture Technology, Agribusiness, Geomatics, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in precision agriculture or a closely related field. Strong proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data analysis tools. Hands-on experience with farm management information systems (FMIS) and various precision ag hardware. Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for remote client interaction. Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
