Procurement Logistics Specialist
Role Description The Procurement Logistics Specialist is a part-time remote role responsible for coordinating the purchase and movement of materials, equipment, and services required for forensic operations. On a day-to-day basis, the specialist will create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely availability of supplies and consumables for laboratory and field activities.
The role includes working with vendors and service providers, negotiating basic terms, monitoring inventory levels, and updating internal stakeholders on order status and logistics issues. The specialist will collaborate with finance and operational teams to maintain procurement records, verify invoices, and support compliance with organizational policies. This position requires consistent communication, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving to keep procurement and logistics processes running smoothly in a remote setting.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Purchase Orders and Supply Chain Management for handling procurement processes and coordinating material flow.
- Candidates should possess solid Logistics Management and Analytical Skills to plan shipments, optimize delivery schedules, and resolve logistics challenges.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work with vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Relevant experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in a laboratory, industrial, or service-oriented setting.
- Comfort with using spreadsheets, ERP tools, or procurement software, and maintaining accurate digital records.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines independently.
- Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field is beneficial.
- Familiarity with forensic or scientific laboratory environments is an advantage but not mandatory.
