Room Attendant/Housekeeping

Provide a consistent room and bathroom product and service adjacent areas that meets the hotel’s standards for cleanliness and presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Cleans and maintains guest rooms, guest corridors, linen rooms and cupboards according to set standards and procedures

2. Replenishes guest supplies

3. Ensures guest services specified by superiors and guests requests are promptly and courteously met

4. Reports damage or malfunction in hotel rooms to superior

5. Maintains equipment in proper state of cleanliness and repair

6. Maintains a section room report

7. Maintains a daily room checklist

8. Meets with superior and takes on daily assigned tasks

9. Reports and submits lost and found articles to superior immediately

10. Report guest complaints to superior immediately

11. Reports unusual behavior/activities on floors to supervisor

12. Records room status in allocated section accurately

13. Complies with hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policy

14. Adheres to personal grooming and hygiene standards

15. Attends meetings and training sessions as required

16. Creates and maintains floral arrangements

17. Carry out valet services when required including delivery of linen or processing laundry orders

18. Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards including being attentive to guests, accurately and promptly fulfilling guests requests, anticipate guests needs, maintain a high level of knowledge which affects the guest experience and demonstrate a ‘service’ attitude.

19. Appreciate the dynamic nature of the Hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers

SELF MANAGEMENT

1. Comply with Hotel Rules and Regulations and provisions contained in the Employment Handbook

2. Comply with Company Grooming Standards at all times to portray a professional image of self and the hotel.

3. Comply with Time and Attendance Policies set by the hotel.

4. Actively participate in training and development programs and maximize opportunities for self-development

5. Demonstrate understanding and awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety

6. Familiarize yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures

7. Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of the Line Manager

8. Comply with the Company’s Corporate Code of Conduct

9. Familiarize self with the company values.

10. Perform all tasks as directed by the Manager in pursuit of the achievement of business goals
