Senior Accountant

About the Role

Purple Roof, a Dubai-based international real estate portal, is looking for a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, preparing financial reports, monitoring transactions, handling reconciliations, and supporting the company’s overall financial management.

This is a remote position, but the candidate should be comfortable working with a Dubai-based international business environment and coordinating with management and team members remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of company income, expenses, payments, and financial transactions.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and accounting records.

  • Perform bank, payment gateway, receivable, and payable reconciliations.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable.

  • Prepare profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and management reports.

  • Maintain invoices, receipts, payment records, and supporting financial documentation.

  • Monitor company expenses and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.

  • Assist management with budgeting, financial planning, and expense control.

  • Maintain proper records for different business activities and international operations.

  • Coordinate with management regarding outstanding payments and financial obligations.

  • Support VAT, tax, audit, and compliance documentation where required.

  • Maintain organized digital accounting records for reporting and auditing purposes.

  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all company financial information.

  • Provide regular financial updates and reports to management.

  • Assist in improving internal accounting procedures and financial controls.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Accounting & Finance.

  • Must hold M.Com, ACCA, or a Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or a related accounting discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, and financial statements.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidential financial information.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets and accounting software.

  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills

Experience with any of the following will be considered an advantage:

  • QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero, or similar accounting software

  • Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets

  • UAE accounting and VAT procedures

  • Real estate, property, mortgage, technology, SaaS, or online marketplace businesses

  • International transactions and multi-market accounting
