Shipping and Receiving Clerk (FT/PT)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This role is vital for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, supporting overall warehouse operations. The position can be full-time or part-time, offering flexibility to accommodate different schedules.

The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, order fulfillment, and equipment operation such as forklifts and reach trucks. A strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes and basic math skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
  • Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately
  • Load and unload freight using forklifts, reach trucks, or other material handling equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory movements within warehouse management systems like MRP or AS400
  • Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to safety protocols
  • Support order fulfillment processes for e-commerce and wholesale clients
  • Organize storage areas to optimize space utilization and facilitate quick retrieval of items
  • Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit
  • Collaborate with team members to meet shipping deadlines and maintain smooth warehouse operations
Skills
  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or related roles
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems such as MRP or AS400 is preferred
  • Ability to operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely (certification preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order picking and inventory management
  • Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
  • Familiarity with order fulfillment processes in e-commerce environments is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in a physically active environment
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors
  • Prior experience with packaging materials and techniques is advantageous
