Staff Cafeteria Attendant
Scope of Work:
The Staff Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the employee cafeteria by providing courteous service, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting food preparation and service. The role contributes to a positive dining experience for colleagues while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare the staff cafeteria for meal service by setting up serving counters, dining areas, and required equipment.
- Serve food and beverages to colleagues in a courteous and professional manner.
- Replenish food items, beverages, condiments, and utensils throughout meal periods.
- Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the cafeteria, serving counters, tables, chairs, and pantry areas.
- Collect and clean used trays, dishes, utensils, and equipment after each meal service.
- Ensure food is handled, stored, and served in accordance with hotel policies and food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of cafeteria supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food and non-food items.
- Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support the Kitchen and Human Resources teams during employee events and special functions as required.
- Follow all hotel policies, health and safety regulations, and grooming standards.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Human Resources Director, Cafeteria Supervisor or delegate.
- Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a related field is an advantage.
- Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant, or institutional cafeteria is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
