What you will do:

Job Purpose:

  • To work closely, as a business partner, with the Business Unit Head and Senior BU management across the business portfolio providing strategic and financial advice. Provide technical expertise and guidance on all finance aspects including commercial finance, financial planning, budgeting, reporting, financial controls and governance, ensuring adherence with group-level guidelines and frameworks. To oversee business and financial performance within the assigned business function, and work with the BU Head and senior BU management to support in enhancing financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Advisory:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management within the business, delivering objective, data-driven insights and advice on portfolio construction and financial performance.
  • Utilize advanced data analytics to support decision-making in optimizing portfolio outcomes.
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations to enhance value creation across the investment platform.

Transaction Support:

  • Partner with deal teams throughout the transaction lifecycle, leading deal planning and execution support, financial due diligence processes, financial analysis, risk assessment, financial modelling, and valuation.
  • Review underwriting assumptions, especially in capital structure review, financing assumptions impacting bankability and risk management assumptions.
  • Develop cost of capital frameworks and assess return adequacy relative to transaction risk (Monte Carlo analysis).
  • Collaborate and engage directly with internal stakeholders, legal advisors, investment bankers, banks, financing counterparties, and external partners to ensure seamless deal execution.
  • Rigorously challenge business case assumptions prior to Investment Committee review.

Corporate Finance:

  • Deliver expertise in corporate finance beyond M&A, including providing senior advisory and execution support in capital structure optimization and debt financing.
  • Advice on risk mitigation strategies (e.g., hedging interest rate and currency exposures) in partnership with central treasury and deal teams.
  • Structure, recommend, and implement financing solutions, including alternative funding approaches, to achieve long-term funding and financial objectives.
  • Drive business planning processes, periodic portfolio return analysis, and performance trend reviews.
  • Apply advanced analytics to investment performance data, identifying trends and lessons learned for senior leadership.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including advisors, partner organizations, investors, and industry professionals.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify and pursue new M&A advisory opportunities.

What will you bring:

  • 16-18 years of experience with a strong track record in front-office transaction execution and commercial finance.
  • Proven expertise in deal planning and execution, including financial due diligence, financial modelling and valuation, structuring financing solutions, and managing relationships with banks and other key transaction stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with investment teams on complex global transactions, acting as a strategic finance advisor throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Strong front-office and commercial mindset, with hands-on deal execution experience gained within investment banking, private equity, sovereign wealth funds, or investment platform environments.
  • Sector-agnostic experience however, Real Estate and/or Infrastructure transaction experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively across investment, finance, legal, and external counterparties to deliver successful transaction outcomes.
