Threat Detection and Response Analyst
Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive threat hunting using intelligence-driven methodologies
- Analyze threat actor TTPs and map behaviors to the MITRE ATT&CK framework
- Monitor security tools, dashboards, and alerts for suspicious activity
- Perform triage of security alerts to determine validity and impact
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents and conduct forensic reviews of logs
- Document findings, recommendations, and lessons learned from investigations
- Support post-incident reviews and corrective action planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or SOC environments
- Experience applying MITRE ATT&CK techniques during investigations
- Knowledge of incident response methodologies and network security
- Familiarity with NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and FISMA
- Ability to obtain and maintain an NIH Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, CEH, GSEC, CASP+, or CISM
- Experience supporting NIH, HHS, or other Federal civilian agencies
- Experience with cloud security in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Experience protecting healthcare or biomedical research environments
