Unreal Engine Game Dev Internship

Position Overview

We are seeking an Unreal Engine Game Developer to join the development team working on Flavor Fury, an interactive game project being developed in Unreal Engine.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in game programming and enjoys turning game concepts into functional, playable systems. The co-op will work closely with game designers, artists, animators, and project leadership to implement gameplay features, interactive environments, UI, and other core systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop gameplay systems and interactive features using Unreal Engine and C++ and/or Blueprints
  • Implement player controls, game mechanics, interactions, and gameplay logic
  • Build and configure levels, actors, components, materials, and interactive objects
  • Integrate 3D models, animations, audio, VFX, and other assets into the game
  • Implement UI systems, menus, HUD elements, and player feedback
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to translate concepts into playable experiences
  • Debug gameplay, performance, and technical issues
  • Test builds and refine mechanics based on playtesting and team feedback
  • Optimize gameplay systems and assets for real-time performance
  • Use Git or other version-control systems to manage development work
  • Document systems, technical processes, and implemented features

Qualifications

  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Working knowledge of Blueprints and/or C++
  • Understanding of fundamental game programming concepts
  • Familiarity with gameplay systems, physics, collision, input, and game states
  • Basic understanding of 3D game development pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with artists, designers, and other developers

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

  • Experience developing a complete Unreal Engine game or playable prototype
  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine Gameplay Framework
  • Familiarity with UMG and Unreal UI development
  • Experience with animation systems, Niagara, materials, or VFX
  • Knowledge of multiplayer/networked gameplay
  • Familiarity with optimization and profiling tools
  • Experience with Blender, Maya, or other 3D content tools
  • Interest in game design and player experience
